Watched the new 'season 6.5' filler episode, 24: Redemption the other day, wasn't overly impressed. It felt like just that, a filler inbetween two seasons.
Well, Day 7 kicks off in January so we will be able to see our boy Jack up to his usual tricks.
Here's the Day 7 trailer BUT CONTAINS MASSIVE SPOILERS!

Who is the final Cylon?
Came across this interesting article and subsequent website in relation to the upcoming and final Battlestar Galactica season.
As you are reading this you will no doubt be interested in BSG and will be more than aware that at the end of season 3, four more Cylons were revealed. Now that the rag-tag fleet, with their new best friends the Cylons, have reached Earth and found it to be a baren, scorched nuclear wasteland! BUT, underneath all of this is the fact that we still don't know the identity of the final Cylon!
A series of hints are being dropped in a pre-launch campaign prior to the series starting up again in January. Have a look at the below to find out the truth! (my money's on Doc Cotton)

One or two way conversations
I've been at home today, using up one of those spare days holiday from your quota that you have to fill before the end of the year. About an hour ago, I realised that I haven't actually spoken to anyone all day long.
There are lots of pros and cons for answering each and every comment / tweet or email. To answer each one (or the vast majority there of) means you are visibly present for your followers and have a genuine interest in what they have to say to you.
If you don't answer them, you can run the risk of making your followers feel that there opinion doesn't count. However, it does mean you can free up time to write new and topical content.
Seth Godin for instance does not include comments on his blog: Why I don't have comments
What do I think? I think the age old 80/20 rule holds firm here, with 20% of bloggers writing 80% of the content. I'm going to keep on commenting on blogs that I want wherever possible. It's interesting that as soon as you start asking the question, more and more people start getting onvolved anyway. Especially on Twitter!

Is Podcasting on the decline?
How often do you listen to a podcast these days? I remember when I got my very first iPod, podcasting was the rage, with the hype surrounding podcasting almost as popular as the impact the ipod had on modern life. For instance, would you ever imagine having white shoes or glasses before the first iPod came out?
With the modern world becoming more and more interconnected and smaller, podcasting, to me, seems to be dying out. I remember waiting with much anticipation for the next episode of my favourite podcasts to come out. Nowadays, a week sems an eternity doesn't it?
As the world becomes a steadily smaller place, are we better off that we are now so interconnected? Or are we becoming more isolated from our real friends because we spend hours and hours each and every day staring at a computer screen typing away our thoughts (ah, just like me...)

TweetDeck for Twitter

What is the best way to use Twitter? Is it to tell your friends and followers that you've just made a cup of tea? That you are hungover or even just plain tired?
I believe that Twitter can be much more than this. Using Stumbleupon, I managed to find a blog (I believe it was Seth Godin but can't be sure) saying that when arriving at a hotel, the author realised that he was missing the power charger for his Macbook. 30 minutes after placing this fact on Twitter, a nearby Twitter user brought a spare one around to the hotel. I can't imiagine that happening even 3 years ago.
So in that vein, I have uncovered TweetDeck, a third party app designed for you to keep an eye on all of your Tweets, and their history in one useful place.
Is it any good, is it useful or is it just another program, and a password for you to remember?
TweetDeck is an extension of Twitter and the beta can be found here.
Discuss (as they used to say in written examinations...)

Googlemail gets a refresh
Those of you who already have a Gmail or Googlemail (in the UK) account might have already noticed but the user interface has been refreshed with a range of background images to select from.
I've included a picture here to show what took my fancy (some might think it's awful but never mind).
Also, while being distracted from writing this as the phone rang, I cam across another blogger writing about it, which you can see here
Guns N' Roses Album

Nothing whatsoever to do with films or marketing but managed to get hold of a pre-release copy of the new G N R album Chinese Democracy last night.
As a big GNR fan from 'back in the day' I was looking forward to this very much.
I found this site and it's quite interesting but the youth audience are a bit different to the GNR fans I remember from the late 80's and early 90's! See it here GNR News

Who is the Final Cylon?
Interesting article on the i09 (strung out on Science Fiction) website as to the identity of the final Fifth Cylon from the reimagined Battlestar Galactica series. Who is is? Is it Starbuck? Is it Admiral Adama or even one of the none regular characters?I think we can all agree that we are looking forward to the series restarting in January so between now and then, we'll just have to keep on guessing / discussing...

The Essential James Bond Recap
How well do you know all 22 of the Bond films? I thought I did but after reading the essential recap, I realised I'd forgotten a lot!

Star Wars A New Hope ORIGINAL Trailer!

A very lazy Sunday

Not feeling well today, not at all. Went out to watch England vs Australia and Ireland vs New Zealand in the pub yesterday. The tourists won both games (boo!) but my friend Neil, who was at the pub with me thought it would be a good idea to keep on boozing.
Anyway, decided to watch a movie this afternoon and picked The Empire Strikes Back. Of all of the six Star Wars films, this one is the best and my favourite. Much darker than A New Hope, this is the one where Luke learns to become a Jedi, learns that Darth Vader is his father and Han gets frozen in carbonite.
But even better than my witterings, here is a cracking review of the film over on the Live for Film blog...

The Day the Earth Stood Still International Trailer
Quite literally just stumbled across this while having a cup of coffee and a bit of a sit. From what I can gather, there are very mixed reviews out there for this, another remake of a classic film.
I have no doubts that the film will look spectacular, just look at the trailer below for heavens sake BUT as with the J.J. Abrams Star Trek film, it would be nice to start seeing some entirely new films every now and then.
Regardless, on to TDTESS. The film looks fab and I'm having to restrain myself to Wikipedia the old film to find out the plot. I watched the original as a nipper but really only remember it being black and white and featured some cyclops robot. If you are really keen, here's the wiki link
Enjoy!

New Star Trek trailer
Already spreading like wildfire through the web, here's a copy of the new trailer for the film. Quality isn't great because it was filmed on a mobile phone but you do get to see the Enterprise, fights and even the evil Romulans - very exciting. Hopefully the high quality version will be released to the Apple site over the weekend...

2012 Teaser Trailer
Awesome new disaster film out next year, with Danny Glover as the US President.
According to the Mayan calendar, the 21st December 2012 marks the end of the world. I might take some holiday around then as the traffic will be a nightmare.
Teaser below but the teaser itself is throwing up all sorts of discussion, which you can follow here at /film
There is also an interesting viral, the Institute for Human Continuity

New Star Trek trailer?

Well, the wait is nearly over, as far as all the web and press gossip goes around the world, the new Star Trek movie trailer direct by J.J. Abrams is released this weekend. For those on the other side of the pond, it's being shown in cinema's in front of Quantum of Solace.
There are all sorts of debate over what people think of the new 'old' USS Enterprise, but the vote is still out. (I like it!)
In order to wet your appetite, here's the official teaser and a selection of images from the film released thus far - more to follow over the weekend!
Interestingly, I've just found another blog who has similar interests in the new trailer - Star Trek Trailer

Terminator 4 Spoilers
Just came across the below site, behind the scenes on new Terminator models for the 4th film.
A new featurette shows off the amazing views of post-apocalyptic Los Angeles, plus an astonishing 10 new Terminators. They include a giant Harvester, the Moto-Terminator bikes, and an Aqua-Terminator… plus the primitive T-600, which you can see in action.

Growing my online presence
It's a very British thing not to blow your own trumpet but it is important to take stock and share the things you are proud of.
I've included below a few links to projects I've been involved in and the success of that activity:

Spent 9 months or so redesigning and rebuilding this site while at Publicis Dialog. It ended up winning a few awards!

As well as arguements between Brand Republic and the Marketing Director of the Army.

Commuting
Had a really slow and laborious journey this morning on the train. Try as I might to get stuck into the new book I'm reading, Slash's biography from Guns N Roses - the woman opposite me kept sniffing. For about 45 mins.
In the end, someone threw a packet of tissues at her and said 'please for all our sakes, blow your nose!'
